wow i was shocked to come across this so late i know a few people who lived in that building and was never told about this…i was the last baby born in old huntsville hospital and recently came to hunstville for a few months,but could not find employment my thoughts and prayers are with everyone that lost so much in the fire….

I am so sad to hear of this tragedy … I grew up just north of Huntsville and had many good times at the Empire. My thoughts are with the tenants during this terrible time.

that and meany other dumps in that town need to be burnt to the ground and some good buldings be put up in there place i am happy no one got hurt but that dosent change the fact that just because a bulding is historic that it should still be lived in there called traps people tare them down and buld new and up to date befor people are not so lucky and dont make it out …..sorry people but thats the cold truth…

My name is Sarah and I was born and raised in Huntsville and to hear about the Empire going up in flames breaks my heart, I have two young kids and live out of town and to imagine something like that happen to anyone makes me scared not just for me but for my girls. I am donating toys and stuff to the Legion as soon as I can get them together found out that their were children in the building, so my girls don’t play with them and I know that those kids will be happy to see them when they get them I know that I would be grateful if someone did that for me and my girls. It’s going to be sad to see that place go if the get rid of it because of all the damage done to it.
